QCIL CEO ELECTED AS ROTARY GOVERNOR FOR UGANDA AND TANZANIA Featured

The 88th Rotary District Conference and Assembly was held in Mombasa between the 24th and 27th of April and it witnessed the birth of a new Rotary District, D9211 comprising of Uganda and Tanzania and elected Quality Chemical Industries Ltd CEO Mr. Emmanuel Katongole as its first District Governor. This Conference and Assembly was opened by newly elected Kenyan President, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mr. Emmanuel Katongole joined the Rotary Club of Muyenga in Uganda in 1996 and in the last seventeen years Mr. Katongole has steadily and diligently served in various positions ranging from Club President, Country Chair for Annual Giving, District Conference Chairman, Assistant Governor and now District Governor for Uganda and Tanzania for the year 2013-14.

Mr Katongole has had numerous achievements which exemplify the innovative and Entrepreneurial spirit that has enabled him and his fellow directors to make Quality Chemical Industries a centre of pharmaceutical manufacturing excellence in Sub-Saharan Africa.

During his tenure as District Governor, Rotarian Emmanuel Katongole intends to focus on serving the community especially the underprivileged. Mr. Katongole will in particular focus on participating in the implementation of both local and international service projects related to peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy and economic community development. He is passionate about having shared values with the community and it is something he has carried forward in the way he runs his businesses. Mr Katongole hopes that his tenure as District Governor will grow the visibility of Rotary in Uganda and encourage more Ugandans to put service above self in their daily lives.
