QCIL is a state of art pharmaceutical manufacturing plant located in Luzira Uganda, QCIL is an additional contract manufacturing site for CIPLA which manufactures and sells combination therapy antiretroviral and antimalarial drugs, which have proven to be most effective in combating HIV/AIDS and malaria, two of Africa’s biggest challenges.
QCILs partnerships with Cipla Ltd of India ensures that we have constant access to state-of-the-art technology , product development and best global practice in all facets of our business. This in turn helps ensure that our young company can compete on product quality and price with the global pharmaceutical giants especially in Africa
In June 2010, QCIL’s plant was added as an additional contract manufacturing site for CIPLA that manufactures Duovir-N (Lamividine/Nevirapine/Zidovudine 150/200/300 Mg) Tablets. This Site has also been accredited by National Drug Authority of Uganda(NDA), the International Committee of the Red Cross(ICRC) In addition, the plant has been accredited by Pharmacy and poisons board of Kenya and by Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi).
We have embarked on a number of social projects, often in partnerships with others who share our vision, to prevent HIV/AIDS and malaria, as we see this as complementary to treatment. These activities include net distribution and education.
QCIL has embarked on an aggressive social coperate responsibility compaign especially in the prevention of HIV/AIDs and Malaria, and has been a catalyst in the development of the country by providing employment to over 500 ugandans directly and indirectly.
